The Pimalai Resort and Spa is the grandest luxury resort on Ko Lanta. It’s secluded and exclusive, hidden away near the island’s southern end at the beautiful Kantiang Beach. The resort is a sprawling complex covering 100 acres of lush natural vegetation and is effectively split into two separate sides of the road. On one side, a hillside estate scaling the mountainside. On the other, a beachfront property hugging the long, pristine beach.
Everything about the design of the resort exudes an air of opulence, with clearly hand-selected details throughout. Everywhere, there is an abundance of deep, dark teak wood. There are repeated motifs – of birdcage lampshades, the symbol of southern Thailand, and of large candle lanterns reflecting in the many lotus ponds scattered across the complex.
